A PRINCESS INSTILLED

I am currently in search of a new series to read now that I am in my early 20's. At this point, I would like to thank the writer who filled my teenage years with so much color and enthusiasm: MEG CABOT.

Her Princess Diaries novels captivated my heart throughout my high school and college years, often leaving my assignments and quizzes at bay. Though I would sometimes stop reading and end up reading sporadically, seeing newly published novels of the Princess Diaries line always tickled me into getting back to hitting the books.

Childish as other people may say but, these books really saved me from the naivety that beheld me as a teenager. As "teeny-bopper" ( a terminology many adults would use) as the books may be, they still showed me a world far beyond and out my usual norms.

The way I think, how I am and my respect for nature were instilled in me by my interest in Mia Thermopolis, the main character of the line. Mia's character made me realize how normal it was to feel a certain way and to go through phases in life we would, most often prefer not be in.

Mia's development and lessons in life though it may sound cheesy, guided my development and lessons in life as well. So once a again, thank you Meg Cabot! Thank you so, so much.  :)

In honor of the Princess Diaries Series, here's a rundown of books 1-10. Enjoy!

Though some versions of the covers for each novel have been changed these past years, I cannot help but lean towards the original style they came out with, as seen in the first few photos above. :)

CHOCOLATE FIRE

It's been months since I've been to Chocolate Fire and I feel it's about time to take another visit! Stepping inside makes you feel like you're in Chocolate Heaven. @_@

The friends who were there the last time I went: Hannah, Teshie, Epau and Jan:

Solo shots now:

Here are some of the delicious treats we tried:

Apart from the yummy food and chill interiors, the owner of Chocolate Fire was so kind. He gave us free sweets. Not once, but twice! :)

Till the next time!

DOMINIC RUBIO

Currently loving the cover of Contemporary Art Magazine. :)
With a sample of Dominic Rubio's work on the cover, this months issue looks more than lively!

When I saw a collection of his work for the first time at a gallery  in SM Megamall, I instantly fell in love with them! I love the constant use of bubblehead-like figures in his paintings for they make his artworks look so unique. The faces looking so cute and in only a few angles, their attires are very reminiscent of the Spanish Invasion. Have you even known anyone whose style is such?

With the characters looking serene and of the colonial era, it would be a dream to own a piece of work by him. :) Here's a photo of the artist next to one of his numerous paintings:

If last months peg was Status Magazine with Yoko Ono on the cover, this months issue of Contemporary Art Magazine takes my bid. I'm surely going to grab a copy of this magazine when I go out this weekend. :)

TICK-TOCK-TICK

To each, his own. To their's, their own. To our's, we hope.

When there are some things you wonder and some things you mind, you can help but wonder those things you don't recall.

With the sky as blue as the grey lines in the clouds, with the birds chirping and the water droplets as clear as a sunny day, fruits of love that come about hoping to find a smile on a kids face is something to await.

When you see the future as it seizes to exist, a smile on your face on a moody day and capiz windows that flung against the walls, you wonder how a combination has come about.

In between schedules that have to be moved, smiles that have turned into frowns and butterflies that for some weird reason have to come to look like moths, it is obvious how changes may occur in a flick.

Once. Twice. Thrice a fourth. A step at a time may not be as simple as it may seem. Patience is a virtue that though is said for all, may just turn around to be otherwise.

Tap, tap, tap. Time is ticking as a gush of noise is about to come.

Tick-tock-tick of rushing billows of air. Of wind. Of a hurricane.

Words often pondered. Words often crushed. Words hoping to be heard. Calls hoping to be made.
Rings hoping to be played and dreams hoping to be reached.

Attainment is of the utmost hope and of the utmost yearning. Life at a young age is as colorful as can be. Zeus, Hera, Aphrodite, Hermes, where could you be?

Tick-tock. Tick-tock. Times-a-ticking. Tick-tock. Tick-tock. Dream's awaiting.

Dark. Light. Light. Muddy. Dark. As confusing as it may be, it's just what it is and it's just to be left as that. Awaiting for a call. Awaiting for an answer. Hoping to be heard. Hoping to be noticed.

A Novena perhaps?

Chill. Relax. Stay Still. A step at a time.... Tick-tock. Tick-tock.

SUMMER SNIPPETS

With SUMMER almost over for people like my brother (BWAHAHA), to create quorum's in gathering's will surely be more difficult. Here are some shots in memory of SUMMER 2011:

Loved the SUMMER that was! Hoping for great things in the remaining months of 2011. *keeping fingers and toes crossed*

To ease out the warm and dry morning that has been, do listen to We R Who We R" by Ke$ha. From experience, the song is an instant mood-lifter. :)

LASER-CUT MODEL MAKING

----

With 4 grown adults and 4 young adults in 1 SUV, yesterday's trip to the model maker housed in Sucat, Paranaque felt more like an excursion rather than a site visit.

Complaining? Totally not! :)

----

Upon entry, though we heard that the factory we were at had state-of-the-art machines and were commissioned by humongous companies by the bulk, it was obvious how homey and simple their set-up was. As soon as we stepped out of the vehicle, the first thing we saw were their faux plants, used to adorn their scale models.

Check how cute the townhouses look amidst the table its on and the cutter next to it!

Check out the bottle of energy drink behind! It's obvious how much time and energy needed to finish the models.

Here are some other shots of the other models that go with the townhouses above:

No paint yet! They said they just started on it

Now what's so cool about the models is that though they're made by hand, the pieces are cut to size and shape by a sort of a "laser printer/cutter".

Check out the other adorable stuff we saw! I want to post the pictures I took around their factory but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to so, I guess these bits and pieces of snippets would do. :)

These tiny, tiny homes light up!

Lads abound the entire factory!

What a fun trip that was! I totally learned a whole lot about model making homes, buildings and subdivisions. Lots with crazy contours were like "wow"! The experience made me take a second look at the intricacy of making a scale model for firms and businesses.

Sabbatical

Currently pledged myself to a sabbatical away from certain things, work none the less but that aspect will have to  experience some delay....
