The tour we had of the Acosta-Pastor Ancestral Home became the highlight of our road trip last Sunday. Below are some of the photos taken by me and Tito Andoy to document the tour we experienced:
A look above the entrance of the home.. |
leads to a room for the kalesa's and the like, followed by a landing made of original White & Black Italian tiles. |
Did you know that "patibong's" were implanted to homes even then? The first step of this home has one! |
View of the left side while on the landing... |
...leads to a Php 5,000,000.00 Grand Piano owned by Ka Tonying. |
Here's a view of the Ante Sala from one of the rooms |
The "player" still works! I heard it play! Weirdddd sounding.... |
There was no such thing as a bathroom before... This structure is directly perpendicular to the room's bed |
A view of Batangas City from one of the rooms on the Second Floor |
Ka Tonying loves to sing & play classical songs on his piano.. He loves to showcase his talent so with us being 15 in total.... |
...we became his instant spectators! :) |
You can see how passionate Ka Tonying here is in this picture...as well as how our younger group members felt the gap between their type of music and his....zzzZZZ.... |
After the private concert, merienda awaited us.... |
Mhmm... Delicious tamales and kakanin! |
Before we left, Ka Tonying gave each one of us a CD compilation of his songs! Not for sale though...hehehehe |
After checking out the home, Ka Tonying led us to his bachelor's pad... |
..and told Dad that my great grandfather may be in the photo! |
View from the Pad |
Followed by a trip to Ka Tonying's office |
...and finally a quick snap of the signage on the fence as we drove by. |
Other details on the house may be found in my previous post!
Toodles!
